EQUIPMENT OPERATOR/MAINTENANCE
The Corporation of the Township of Moonbeam is seeking a full-time Equipment Operator/Maintenance employee to join its Public Works team.
Job summary:
Under the supervision of the Lead Hand, the employee operates municipal equipment safely and performs various maintenance duties related to roads, municipal properties, buildings, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy and light equipment (trucks, loaders, blowers, mowers, etc.)
- Perform road maintenance work (snow removal, grading, minor repairs)
- Assist with the maintenance of municipal grounds, buildings, and facilities
- Conduct basic equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience operating equipment and/or in municipal maintenance (an asset)
- Valid driver's licence (DZ class o higher considered a strong asset)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices
Working Conditions:
- Unionized position governed by the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 1-2010 Collective Agreement
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, based on operational requirements
- Hourly wage: $29.04 to $35.94, depending on the applicable step (current wage grid - Equipment Operator/Maintenance)
- Comprehensive benefits and pension plan as per the Collective Agreement
- Probationary periods applies
